Today you will be scientists studying the human skeletal and muscular systems. Click on the links below to help you find the answers to the questions on your hand-out and record the answers as you find them. Once you've completed the handout, you will create a Power Point presentation about the human skeleton. The power point should answer the following questions:
Skeletal System:
1. What is a skeleton?
2. How many bones are in the human skeleton?
3. What is the function of the human skeleton? (why do we have a skeleton?)
4. Are your bones alive?
5. What are bones made of?
6. Define the following types of joints and give an example of where you can find each in the human body: ball and socket; hinge; gliding.
Muscular System:
1. What is the job of the muscular system?
2. How many muscles do you have in your body?
3. What are the three main types of muscles you have in your body?
4. What is the job of each type of muscle?
5. Name three major muscles and where they are located in your body.
